He is not from Darfur but from the team Darfur

Last night in the inauguration ceremony of the Olympics games I knew that the person who was holding the American flag is originally from Sudan.I know that the Americans really want to mix politics with sports in all possible way !! They wanted to send to direct message to the Chinese for their support to Omar Al-Bashir’s regime in Sudan as if the Chinese really care !!
By the way I just want to clear something Lopez Lomong , the 81972990CC157_Olympics_Open American from Sudanese origin is not from Darfur. This Sudanese refugee is from the South of Sudan. Al-Arabiya network as usual made him from the Darfur and thus the racial comments began to come in like a flood. I do not know if they do it deliberately as usual or misunderstood the fact that he is currently a member in team Darfur  which is an international association of athletes devoted to raising awareness of humanitarian crises in Darfur !!
Lomong is from the lost boys , initially the lost boys term was used to the UN to name a group of Southern Sudanese youth in the Refugees camps who lost their parents in the second civil war.
What I hate in this fuss that some people do not really understand that people actually got killed in Darfur and the Sudanese regime is involved in the matter and responsible of this genocide. I wish that our Egyptian,Arab and Muslim athletes join this Darfur team.

  1. @Kim,unfortunately China understands what you are saying and it does not want to happen and this is why they are forcing censorship even on the reports who are covering the important event.
Games are excellent chances but unfortunately many countries like China thinks of human rights as a matter of politics not as something basic in Life

  2. I don't think it's directed to the Chinese only. It's about the American dream: if you work hard you might make "despite your origin"! of course if you don't you won't pass the start line, you don't get insurance or education and will probably end up in jail...

  3. @Ramy , may be but it is about the Lost Boys according to all the sports journalists, Lopez is not the first Colored man to carry the American flag in the Olympics
