The good news of the Day : Egyptians will vote everywhere

I will try to do this at least on a daily basis , I will put a summary for the good news of the day in Egypt.

The most important good news of the day is :

  • Egyptians abroad will have the right to vote in the elections insh Allah

Yes after decades and decades Egyptians abroad will participate in the political process of their homeland and choose the president insh Allah with us. It is not yet an official decree but the legalization ministerial committee approved the amendment. I think the Egyptian abroad will participate at the presidential elections and this alone a huge victory.

  • Safwat El-Sherif is being interrogated by the illicit gains committee for hours now and there is a strong talk that he will join the rest of the gang at Torah prison today.
  • Sooner there will new governors will be appointed , earlier leaks say the movement will include more civilians and for the first time a woman :) Of course I want governors in the future to be elected not appointed.

PM Sharaf will speak supposedly tonight.

Regarding Maikel Nabil’s sentence : It pours

Maikel Nabil has been sentenced today 3 years in jail in front of a military court allegedly for that blog post. “Here is the English translation” His main charge is spreading lies about the army concerning the torture and abuse that happened on March 9th and at the Egyptian museum. The sentence was made without his knowledge or the knowledge of his lawyers.
What I am scared and worried from that the charges Nabil faced can apply to all bloggers including me who criticize and report violations in their blogs about the army. I understand professionally that you can’t just criticize or rather accuse “in case of Nabil” these dangerous accusations of torture except with vital evidences especially now like photos and videos with testimonies. “Ironically there are video clips for victims allegedly tortured at the Egyptian museum and up till now the SAFC has not yet announced the results of his investigations regarding these allegations”
Now I am worried that I will face similar charges now when I write anything about the SAFC or the army. Civilians should not be prosecuted in front of military courts for God sake !!

A Revolutionary victory in Africa

I want to thank whoever had the idea of forming this delegation that traveled to the upstream Nile river countries , I want to thank whoever chose the members of that delegation. This is the first time I believe we have used the Nasser popularity as we should in Africa. Nasser’s son Abdel Hakim was among the names included in the delegation and he was received warmly. “Check this from Uganda , ironically they were mistaken in the name of Abdel Hakim Abdel Nasser”

The delegation included names like possible presidential candidate Ayman Nour, George Isaac , Wafd party member Mustafa El-Gendy and representatives from the revolution youth.

It is a miracle compared to the damaged the Mubarak regime made all those years costing us a lot.

Uganda will wait till our presidential elections to see our next president’s policy and Congo is to our side.

Mubarak addresses the Egyptian people from Sharm El-Sheikh

Al Arabiya news channel has just aired from short time ago a recorded message from former President Mubarak addressed to the Egyptian people. This is his first recorded speech since ouster to the public. His last public speech was on February 10,2011 ironically. According to the channel this speech was recorded yesterday.
Here is the speech “Thanks to Arabist”

It was emotional short speech where he reminded us with his past at the beginning and why he stepped down than he defended himself and his family from the current allegations surrounding their wealth. He claimed that he and his wife do not own any assets abroad and that he has one bank account only in an Egyptian bank. He did not deny that his sons got assets yet he defended them and claimed that they did not use their position to get these assets. He claimed that the general prosecutor got letters from all countries around the world denying that he got any assets around Egypt.

Our Revolution's biggest enemy : Stupidity

We thought that the biggest dangers on the revolution is the old ex-Mubarak regime or the foreign powers that do not want Egypt to advance and restore its position or even those radical powers in the country that only care for their interests . We put a list by all our enemies and forget our biggest enemy is our stupidity ,we are own worst enemies.
Friday April 8th started wonderfully and it ended by a disaster ,a real disaster that is jeopardizing the whole revolution and our whole future actually. We are responsible for this disaster whether SAFC or activists or media.
You probably know that the army ended violently that sit in made by those alleged defected army officers and the activists that supported them. You probably know that the army used excessive force that ended officially in killing 1 person and injuring 71 according the ministry of health. You probably know or may not know that all people are worried now in Egypt from further clashes between us and the army especially the angry youth. Up till now there is a lot of contradicting stories and numbers , what I have mentioned above is the thing I am sure of.
I will start first with the SAFC and its stupid decisions. The SAFC’s decision process speed is too slow for a revolution that achieved a lot in 18 days , too slow for real time media that can turn things up side down in a day . The SAFC is acting in an army way by nature despite now it is playing politics. Old generals deal with younger generations sometimes from parenthood perspective and other times from commandership perspective. I explained my general views regarding the council here. The army is using the curfew law to enforce their side and to defend their actions and I think throughout the day they knew the defected officers were using the revolutionary feelings to get protection. The defected officers were using the civilians as human shields and unfortunately they did turn in to human shields. How could not the army pay attention to this !!?
