#Jan25 : Ten years gone

Warning: It is quite a depressing post but sometimes to have let all those thoughts out to think better

I am trying to avoid all emotions and memories because it is hard, really damned hard and sad to write what I feel when it comes to the 25 January revolution especially after ten years

Yes, ten years have passed and yet it seems like yesterday.

Again this is unarranged personal biased emotional post.

They call us as emotional who do not think with their brains enough, who are not realistic enough.

Revolutionaries are emotional, they are dreamers and they dream always for a better future.

“Bread, Freedom and Social justice” are not emotional goals but rather realistic basic human needs.

Maybe the world can be a little better if people start to be emotional and politicians stop their cold calculations that make things from bad to worse to worst.

Again I do not know or how to organize and type all those feelings, ideas and those words I want to say.

I feel overwhelmed

Coronavirus on the Nile : COVID-19 ups and downs

Time for our new two-weeks Live Updates post about everything Coronavirus in Egypt and the Arab world.

After an increase in the official number of coronavirus cases in Egypt, last week the numbers declined officially.

I am saying officially because you still hear more cases of coronavirus in your circles in Egypt nowadays.

It is enough to know that the Egyptian Medical syndicate recorded 31 fatalities of its members alone due to coronavirus in the first ten days of coronavirus.

Personally, our family had its first fatality due to coronavirus, my mom’s cousin who already suffered kidney disease and due to her infection with coronavirus, she had a kidney failure.

Like many Egyptians, it was a hard thing to find a place for her in an ICU and she ended up in a private hospital on a ventilator before passing away. May Allah bless her soul and bring patience to her family.

In those upcoming days, the Egyptian government should start its vaccination process

Egypt’s Drugs Authority “EDA” had already approved the emergency use of China’s Sinopharma vaccine and set up a website so people can register but up till now, the vaccination process has not started yet.

It is worth to mention that according to previous statements of health officials predicted that the peak of the coronavirus’ second wave would be in late January.

Regionally, the Gulf states continue successfully in its vaccination programs. Algeria’s President is back to Germany to complete his coronavirus treatment. The numbers of coronavirus cases are surging in Lebanon for real. It is unclear how Lebanon can book vaccines with a financial crisis.

Anyhow please stay safe and stay home as much as you can.

Coronavirus on the Nile: Egypt’s COVID-19 December numbers in Graph

This is the time of our monthly post about the coronavirus pandemic and its numbers in graphs.

Needless to say,  December 2020 witnessed a leap in the cases of coronavirus as well as its fatalities and recoveries.

In December 2020, we did not have only an official recognition that we are in the second wave of coronavirus.

The New Year’s Eve celebrations were cancelled. More restrictions were issued once again above them reducing the Not-wearing-the-face-mask in public from LE 4,000 to LE 50 to make it more realistic.

Schools are back to be online and more companies are back to work from home or rotation system to reduce work in closed offices.

If you live in Egypt, you will know that as you will find someone in your circle or family’s circle or friend’s circle who tested positive for coronavirus.

The official numbers increased from 400s in December’s first week to 1,400s in the last two days of the month.

Seen in Cairo : Saints Constantine and Helena Church in Downtown Cairo “Merry Orthodox Christmas”

This post should have been on the blog hours earlier but thanks to what happened on the Capitol earlier on Wednesday, it is published early 7th January morning.

Merry Christmas to all dear Orthodox Christians especially Egyptian Coptic Orthodox Christians celebrating the Christmas on the eve of 7th January.

On this occasion, I would like to share a photo of Saints Constantine and Helena Church in Downtown Cairo.

Inaugurated in 1913 by the Greek Community in Cairo, Saints Constantine and Helena Church is a Greek Orthodox Church.

It was renovated two years ago.

I attended a wedding inside it in 2007 and it is so beautiful from inside.

Hopefully, most of us will get the vaccines inshallah and hopefully, the virus won’t mutate again.

I hope that the world will heal its wounds in 2021 inshallah.

Now back to our 15-days-post with our daily coronavirus news from Egypt and the Arab world.

I must hint out that the Egyptian government is bracing for tougher coronavirus days in the country in January. I expect more cases in the upcoming two weeks because it seems that people celebrated the New Year's Eve regardless of the government's decision banning any celebrations.

Personally, I hear more cases every day in my circle.

Anyhow here is our daily live updates from Egypt and the Arab world
