New Libya : Big attack on Qatar

Almost all the Egyptian websites are featuring what Abdel Rahman Shalgam allegedly said in about Qatar , the former foreign minister opened his fire in Qatar in an Abdullah Kamel Style literally in a way that does not suit a veteran diplomat like him !!
In that alleged interview Shalgam calls the Libyans to resist Qatar insisting that Libya will not be the Emirate of Prince Hamd. Just like Kamel in Rosa Al Youssef Shalgam says that Libya will not be ruled by an alley and that if we combine the number of the Libyan martyrs, injured and missing they will be more than Qatari people !!
According to El Ahram gate this interview was published in Algerian Al Khabar and of course based on old experience as well as based on Algerian regime from the Arab revolutions especially its position from what is taking place in Libya made think me that it could be fake interview made to create a crisis between Qatar and Libya. Of course it turned out to be a real interview but in Algerian Al Khabar but rather with DW Arabic service in a TV discussion about the challenges facing the New Libya state and NTC.

#FreeAlaa :Alaa is still detained

Our dear blogger Alaa Abdel Fatah aka @Alaa is still detained by the orders of the military prosecution. The military prosecution has refused the appeal presented by his lawyers today at C28. Thus Alaa is going to spend the rest of the 15 days pending investigation in detention. He is being accused of 4 charges including stealing military arms and attacking military soldiers.According to military prosecution he is not being prosecuted because he is an activist but rather accused of stealing weapons. 
Seif was transferred to Tora prison today , according to his family it is better. Several lawyers represented Alaa today beside his father Ahmed Seif Al Islam , he was represented by lawyers Ahmed Ragab and Montaser El Ziyat , the Islamist lawyer and current lawyers’ syndication candidate.

Just Pray For Pella

The worst thing in the morning is to open the TV to find a SOS from another human in the middle of the sea on the board of ferry on fire !!

This is how we started today in Egypt with the memories of El Salam 98 and the SOS of a simple Egyptian called Attiya on ONTV’s Sabah ON where he said that he stuck with other passengers on the board of “Pella” Ferry while it is on fire.
There are not less than 1200 passengers on the board of “Pella” ferry. 200 have used lifeboats while the Jordanian and Egyptian authorities have transferred not less  830 to another ferry in the area. The Egyptian navy have sent one of its speed boat “ Swift” to save the rest of the passengers. 
The minister of transportation in Egypt called the TV show and said that 75% of the fire was put off.
The ferry was on its way from Aqaba to Nuweibeh when it caught on fire for unknown reasons. It turned out that it is a Jordanian ferry owned by “Petra” company. The Jordanian authorities have declared that there are no casualties. According to the Jordanian company the fire started at the luggage room.
The people in Taba acted quickly when they heard the news , the diving centers sent their boats to the ferry in an attempt to save the passengers.
Let’s pray for them .
SCAF has issued its 78 message about "Pella" where it says it sent the navy and air forces to save them. Of course it turns out the Jordanian forces saved day because the ferry was only 15 miles away from Jordanian shores.

Now AFP reports from Jordan that one Egyptian citizen drowned in the sea after jumping from the ferry in an attempt to save himself.
Petra News agency of Jordan reported the following : All the passengers on the ferry were evacuated except  4 pregnant women and 3 crew members and that a number of the passengers jumped in to the sea to escape the fire.

Ok Occupy Oakland is on fire from what I see and the protesters are being dispersed in a way that reminded me with more of Egypt’s under Mubarak with tear gas , rubber rubbers. According to protesters the attack of the police was unprovoked and the cops were the one that pulled the first bullet. Here is a timeline for what happened in the past 24 hours from Oakland.
There were calls for general strike as well as calls to close the port there.

For the first time in the history of Al Ahram !!

This can’t be ignored in a way or another because it is a historical thing. Without any fancy introductions Al Ahram newspaper that used to call the Muslim brotherhood the banned group from a year has published a half page colored ad for Freedom and justice , the MB’s party in its 5th page today !!

Now the ad says that “Tomorrow is better” showing a chubby smiling Egyptian family along with the famous logo of FJP “We hold good for Egypt”
I wonder how Ahmed Mossa feels now.
By the way Khairat El Shater , the famous MB leader who was among the famous victims of the military trials in time of Mubarak has at last spoken against the military trials on behalf the Muslim brotherhood group.

RIP Atef Yahia , the living martyr

Atef Yahia , a 22 years Egyptian young man who shot by the security forces “Unclear if it were police or military police” on the May 19th Israeli embassy first clashes has passed away earlier after months in coma. 
He is the latest martyr , the latest protester to die from security forces’ violence with protesters.
Who should be responsible for Yahia’s death for real ? Who is to blame ? Who pulled the trigger ?
I have been thinking since last bloody Sunday October 9th and the current investigation which supposedly that fact finding committee will announce its results tomorrow , strangely in all the incidents and clashes since April 9th the investigations have not finished yet and we do not know the truth for what happened for real.

RIP Ahmed Al-Hawan “1937-2011”

Ahmed Al-Hawan "1937-2011"

Ahmed Abdel Rahman Al-Hawan aka Gomaa Al Shawn “1937-2011” has passed from couple of hours ago in Cairo today , Tuesday November 1,2011.
I do not know what to write about this man except that I spoke to him twice on the phone to check on his health and each time he was more than kind. I am very shy person and calling someone I did not know at all personally to check on him last year was a big thing for me but I think he broke the ice with his kindness and sweetness in the first time in 2010.
I checked on him after the revolution when it was said that he was sick and he was just sweet. May Allah bless his soul
