#SudanProtests :A coup in Sudan “Live updates”

Here is a live update with all the news, videos and photos from Sudan right now following the military coup that took place earlier Monday.

Sudanese protesters in Khartoum "AFP"

Keeping refreshing this post after the break

#SudanProtests : Back to square one in Sudan with one of those coups

It was only a matter of time and only the optimistic believed that the warnings from the west had prevented it from happening “Myself included”, but it happened. Sudan has a military coup and once again it is back to square one.

Early morning in Khartoum, military forces began to move and we began to read on Twitter that we are on the verge of seeing a new coup once again in the nation that paid heavy prices for Sudanese military officers with a hunger for power.

For those who do not know, the Sudanese military should have handed over power to the Civilian Government of Sudan next month but the last three weeks witnessed very alarming developments including an alleged failed coup attempt.

The attempt was followed by an accusation to Civilian Prime Minister Abdullah Hamdok’s government of dividing the country and excluding political powers “mostly the old corrupted powers” and we found some sit-ins claiming to be in favour of a military takeover of power.

It was an obvious bad plan and Hamdok called the protesters last week to foil and they did go to the streets to show their size and power.

Watch This : Cairo’s Moulid Doll 2021

This should have been posted with the Kodak Agfa’s Moulid Nabi Eve at El-Siyada but due to work pressure, I could not finish editing or post on time.

But it is not never too late to share a video for the latest trend in Moulid Dolls for the year 2021 in the video.

I could not film longer or move around because the vendors were closing down and moving away at the policemen reminded them of the government’s decisions to close the shops at 10 PM.

I hope you like the video “and my voice in Arabic”. If you like the video, please share it.

Happy and blessed Moulid.

This year Kodak Agfa went again El-Siyada Zeinab’s famous El-Sad street because she heard they were holding a special Moulid al-Nabi sweets market this year.

Modern Egypt’s unexplained files: The Coronavirus Vaccine packages in a village canal and El-Sahel Microbus "Updated"

Egypt got mysteries; it is an established fact.

Yet unfortunately, the world is focusing on Egypt’s old mysteries only and is ignoring its modern mysteries for some mysterious reason for real.

We got real interesting mysteries that can baffle you enough to know that those modern Egyptians are the true descendants of those ancient Egyptians, and they continue to create mysteries.

Like for instance those days we got two mysteries in one week: The mystery of the Covid-19 vaccine packages dumped in some canal in Upper Egypt and the mystery of the White Microbus that fell from a bridge and vanished into the Nile with no trace whatsoever.

Let’s start with the first mystery: Why were there thousands of Covid-19 vaccine packages in some canal in Upper Egypt !??

Last Thursday, citizens of a village called Abshaq near Bani Mazar town in Minya governorate found discarded packages of Chinese Sinopharm Covid-19 vaccine in a water canal.

The packages of Sinopharm vaccine as they were found discarded
in a rural village in Upper Egypt

In no time, photos and videos showing the discarded vaccine packages went viral on social media creating an uproar and soon the Public Prosecution announced that it was investigating the incident.

On Sunday, the Public Prosecution issued a statement announcing more details in the cases after its initial investigation.

#Oct73 war anniversary : Watch in Arabic “The Glorious October” short documentary

Happy October war anniversary to all Egyptians and Arabs.

For this year, I stumbled upon this rare short documentary produced by Egyptian TV in December 1973. ‘Thanks to journalist and author Omar Taher on Twitter’

It is called “Glorious October” and it featured the exhibit the government organized in Cairo to show the Israeli prizes of war to the public”

That big exhibit was held in the place of Cairo Opera House in Zamalek or as it was used to know then “The Fairs land”.

The epic moment in that short 12:47 documentary is when an injured soldier who lost his leg danced on late Mohamed Noah’s popular patriotic song “Chiddi Hilek ya bala” or “be strong my country” which was a hit then.

This is the time of our monthly post about the coronavirus pandemic and its official numbers in graphs in Egypt.

#Coronavirus on the Nile : October’s Covid-19 coverage in Egypt and Arab world “Live”

It is another new month in the time of the coronavirus pandemic in Egypt and the World.

It is October and many believe that all the year should be October, well I won’t say no except I miss the Octobers without Coronavirus and its anxiety.

On the first day of school in Cairo on 9 October 2021 "Sayed Hassan"

Currently, Egypt is having its coronavirus fourth wave moment and according to officials, we are going to see it peak in the upcoming three weeks.

Nevertheless, the Egyptian government is trying to intensify its efforts to accelerate the vaccination process, especially it has received millions of doses donated by other foreign countries like the United States. It is expected though as the academic year will start

The government set a goal to vaccinate 40 million Egyptians by the end of 2021. It also set a goal to vaccinate also all university students and staff before the academic year would kick off on 9 October.

We will see if it reaches that goal or not.

Anyhow Please stay safe, keep your social distance and get vaccinated as soon as possible.

Here is our monthly live coverage of everything coronavirus below.

Tiktok dispatch #1 Welcome to the Jungle

Lately, I have been spending more and more time on Tiktok.

I have become addicted to the short video-sharing Chinese media platform that took the world by storm. Tiktok has had its own storm in Egypt’s legal system after its endless controversy whether the sad Tiktok girls saga or the Tiktok racist bullies. It earned a bad reputation.

Older generations still consider it the social media platform of vice where women pimp themselves thanks to the endless Tiktok girls arrested in the media every couple of weeks whereas older Upper classes look at it as a vulgar social media platform of lower classes sing and dance on awful Mahraganat music that should be banned altogether.

Ironically those old Upper classes do not realize that their young actually are active on the platform like any youth in the world nowadays and present interesting content.

For me, as I dig more and I change my choice algorithm, it became another way for me to see that other Egypt usually ignored or forgotten in the mainstream media.

I remember seeing that small protest organized by a group of angry high school students against the Education Minister in front of the Education Ministry in Downtown Cairo following the announcement of the Thanaweya Amma results of the 2020/21 academic year. Almost all news websites ignored this small protest.

I knew through it about great talents.

Like Mr Sayed who used to work in a simple poor workshop but Tiktok and social media changed his life thanks to some Tweets. This is the first video I have ever seen for him and I could not ignore it.

The Return of Khaled Youssef : The elephants in the room

Famous Egyptian director and former MP Khaled Youssef returned back from Paris after nearly two years of self-exile following his sex-related scandal in winter 2019.

Since his return to Cairo, he is hailed in the Egyptian mainstream media as this great opposition figure who is patriotic enough to oppose the country locally and not from abroad.

Already his return is regarded on how things are shifting Cairo and more spaces are being given to opposition and its figures. "Ironically, Youssef is Nasserite and those guys I do not really consider as true opposition considering their main icon is the source of authoritarianism in the country so far"

Youssef was busy doing interviews whether on MBC Masr or news websites praising the change in the country in the past two years.

Khaled Youssef
An edited photo of Khaled Youssef in Alamein earlier this month

Ironically Youssef returned back to Egypt briefly last March to mourn his brother who passed away and participated in his funeral then returned back to Paris.

He is also busy professionally as he announced that h had plans with the United Media Service to direct a historical film about the 1973 war as well as a TV series aside from his film he was inspired to make about Arab women expats in Paris.

Now I do not have any problem with his return but I got a problem that since his return he did not even bother to speak a word about those women who were involved with him in that sex scandal that no one speaks about publicly anymore.

Till now he did not apologize or speak a word to support those ladies who were detained pending investigation as he was in Paris.

The only woman he spoke about fondly is his wife, who to be honest had to face hell with his ongoing drama from time to time.

Kodak Agfa Presents : Hidden European Fine Arts of Egypt “Volume 1 : Paintings”

Egypt got some secret treasures to amuse and share with the world and they are not great Egyptian ancient treasures.

They are treasures from different civilizations that ended up in the valley of the Nile. Among those treasures, a huge collection of classical European arts from statues and paintings by the greatest artists the world has known in the last 200 years.

European Arts fans can enjoy themselves too in Egypt if they know where to go.

I know some will find it odd, but we got paintings for painters like Monet, Picasso, Goya and Henri Matisse that are worth millions of dollars

The girl , the painting and Sculpture
The girl , the painting and Sculpture

Last November I went to Aisha Fahmy Palace in one fine afternoon to see its latest exhibit of the Egyptian Museums’ treasures. I went to the Mohamed Ali era exhibit era and it was amazing. Then came this exhibit “The Classical European art pieces in Egyptian Museums” and it blew my mind.

It is the third exhibit in the Egyptian Museums’ treasures exhibit series the Palace has been holding since its inauguration.

Now how those paintings and statues ended up in Egypt. Well, thank Egypt’s fine collectors from Mohamed Ali Royal Family and the rich class from Pashas like Mohamed Mahmoud Pasha Khalil. Those fine collectors were unfortunately nationalized and thankfully those paintings were locked up and kept safely for decades despite attempts to showcase them.

An exhibit inside Aisha Fahmy Palace
The exhibition was held at Aisha Fahmy Palace, which is a piece of art from inside

That exhibit had paintings and sculptures that came from three main museums: Giza’s Mohamed Mahmoud Khalil Museum, Cairo’s Gezira Center for Modern Art aka Egyptian Modern Art Museum and Alexandria’s Museum of Fine Arts.

It shows a glimpse of Egypt’s own European fine arts collection.

In this post I am focusing only on the paintings I found there.

And our quick tour starts here with Monet

#Coronavirus on the Nile : Covid-19 of September in Egypt and Arab world “Live Coverage”

Unofficially you began to hear and know more cases of coronavirus again in your circle, mostly for non-vaccinated people.

We are now speaking about the Delta variant which the health ministry admitted in August officially that was spotted in Egypt during July contrary to the statements of health officials.

The Egyptian government continues to vaccinate people but still, it is a slow process compared to the population number.

Health experts expect that the fourth wave of coronavirus will hit the country in September, thus we have to take our precautions to protect ourselves and over beloved ones.

Please stay safe, keep your social distance and get vaccinated as soon as possible.

Egypt at #Tokyo #Paralympics2020 : Silver , Bronze medals and the amazing Hamadtou

In the past 72 hours, Egypt achieved great results in the Tokyo Paralympics in case that you do not know. “Most of you do not know

They are overshadowed by the footballers' news unfortunately with all this ongoing Shika drama, so here is a recap of the achievements of Team Egypt at the Paralympics Tokyo 2020.

Kodak Agfa Presents : The Royal Taxidermy and Hunting Museum

This post was planned for the occasion of Egypt’s National Day aka 23 July Coup/Revolution/Movement “Whatever you prefer” as Kodak Agfa would like to share with you those couple of photos taken in summer 2019 but time was not that friendly.

It ended up posted a month later!!

If you are into bizarre-stuff-niche museums with a little dark twist, then you will like this post.

If you are into hunting and animal taxidermy, then this is your place.

Gazelles shoulder mount taxidermy at the Royal taxidermy

This post is about the Mohamed Ali Taxidermy and Hunting Museum or as officially known “Royal Hunting Museum”.

This place is in the Prince Mohamed Ali Tawfik Estate at Cairo’s Al-Manial island which I visited with a group of friends in August 2019.

We already visited its beautiful small mosque and saw how much the eccentric prince who could have been a king was influenced by Islamic architecture especially in Andalusia.

Our next stop in this big estate that looks like a small oasis inside the buzzing Cairo is the Royal Hunting Museum or Mohamed Ali taxidermy museum. “I hope its trees survive the trees massacre still going on across the country”

Water Buffaloes shoulder mount taxidermy and a goose taxidermy at Mohamed Ali taxidermy museum

 at the Royal taxidermy museum

First, I apologize for the bad photography as the lighting in the Museum is not camera friendly. There are out of focus photos too.

I thought at first this is the personal collection of Prince Mohamed Ali Tawfik and that building where he used to taxidermize those poor animals he hunted and collected.

This made me think that he would be more eccentric than he was already.

But I was mistaken.

That small building located near the mosque did not exist before the 1960s. It was not part of the original buildings in the estate, nor it was commissioned by Prince Mohamed Ali Tawfik.

Egyptian Faces : Hafiza Rostom El-Alfi

I could not ignore that photo of this lady in a Victorian dress greeting me as I was heading to get my Covid-19 vaccination jabs at Giza’s Islamic Association Charity Agouza hospital aka Agouza hospital’s clinics' annexe.

A close-up enhanced photo of Hafiza El-Alfi, yes I used Remini as the photo was not great.

I took my mobile phone and snapped photos of the photo and a small statue bust.

Security guards were curious to know why I was doing that but how I could not when I see in front of me a very interesting Egyptian who should be remembered.

This commemoration photo and a very short biography in both Arabic and French “interesting choice of language” of Hafiza, as well as a small bust statue, are located at the entrance of the new annexe of the hospital “its new clinics complex” which was inaugurated in March 2015 by former PM Ibrahim Mahleb.

This is the first time I know that an Egyptian woman was actually behind Giza’s biggest charity hospital.

I searched for more information about that aristocratic lady who decided to donate her wealth to charity but I found very little personal information and more charity works and buildings that are still standing to this day.

Egypt at the end of #Tokyo2020 : Truly Historical Gold and Silver Medals in Karate Kumite and Modern Pantheon

Now, this is a finale for Tokyo 2020 Olympics that I love, all of us back in Egypt love to be precise. What I love in this finale is that we did not expect it all.

Egypt got Golden and Silver medals on Saturday in four hours only for the first time in Karate Kumite.

Karateka Feryal Abdel Aziz won the country’s gold medal in the final of the +61kg Karate Kumite and Modern Pantheon player won the silver medal in the game’s Individual category.

Both made history for the country for real.

Sadly no one paid attention to El-Gendy except when the news came from Tokyo that he won the Silver Medal and we knew more about the 21-years-old champion.

We knew now that the Al-Shams Club Pantheon champion already won the gold medal at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics and a bronze at the World Championship in Cairo earlier this year.

Needless to say, there is no real coverage for this important and hard sport in Egypt.

El-Gendy got Egypt’s first-ever medal as well as its first silver medal too in the Modern Pantheon thanks to El-Shams Club hardworking player.

Ahmed El-Gendy and his Silver medal in Tokyo

It is the country’s first Silver medal after four bronze medals in Taekwondo, Wrestling and Karate Kumite.

It is Egypt’s 11th silver medal in its Olympic record.

Moving to our Golden girl, Karateka Feryal Abdel Aziz who made history by all measures.

Karate Princess Feryal Abdel Aziz won her first gold medal when she defeated Azerbaijan’s Irina Zaresta in the final of the +61Kg Category on Saturday.

It was the greatest moment to see our Egyptian flag raised and our National Anthem played loud in the Tokyo Olympics after 17 years exactly in Athens Olympics

“This is the least thing I can present to Egypt, If I stay thanking God till the end of my life for this moment, it won’t be enough. This is the best moment in my life”

Our champion Feryal Abdel Aziz said proudly to the BeinTV channel, the exclusive broadcaster of the Olympics in the Arab world. “The Nasser Al-Khelaifi TV sports empire thankfully aired the game freely on Saturday. New generations won’t believe that we used to watch the Olympics for free for real in the past”

Here is the moment she won and please focus on her mother wearing blue “screaming” from Cairo’s Mataria “Oh my heart, oh my heart”.

“Thanks for my mother, for my mother for my mother, it is your achievement and not my achievement for real”

These are the words Feryal told Bein winning our hearts and minds in Cairo after securing a 5-4 victory over Kazakhstan's Sofya Berultseva in the semi-final.

Feryal’s mom is like many mothers who spent hours supporting their kids especially their girls while playing Karate in Egypt despite all hardships.

I know that scene of moms taking their kids to Karate lessons in the clubs, I grew up seeing it and it is still going strong.

It is a Gold medal for those moms and their little girls to pursue their dreams.

The 22-yeas-old is the first Egyptian woman to win an Olympic Gold in history.

She is also our fourth woman to win a medal in the Olympics.

It is the 8th Gold medal Egypt achieves in the Olympics

This is the first Gold Medal Egypt has scored since Wrestler Karam Gabr’s Gold medal in the men's Greco-Roman 96kg at the 2004 Athens Games.

The young pharmacist is the first Egyptian, African and Arab woman to win the Gold Medal in the +61 kg Karate Kumite in the Olympics.

Abdel Aziz is also considered the second Egyptian, African and Arab woman to win a medal in the Olympics in general in Karate Kumite after Giana Farouk who scored the bronze medal on Friday.

Egypt has won 6 medals in the Tokyo 2020; four bronze, one silver and one gold.

This is the biggest number of medals Egypt has ever won in the Olympics since 1928.

After our medal boost on Saturday, Egypt jumped in the Olympics Medal Count and We have become 53rd.

Some achievements we must mention

A special salute to Egypt’s National Handball team after losing to Spain in the Semi-Final in the Olympics.

They did not make it to the bronze but they made history as the first Arab/Egyptian team to reach a semi-final in the Olympics as well as the first Arab/Egyptian handball team to reach a semi-final in the Olympics.

It is a great achievement and raises from the Egyptian national handball which has established itself worldwide as a strong team.

A huge salute to the handball boys especially their captain Ahmed Al-Ahmar who announced that he would quit playing internationally following the Olympics.

Thanks, Captain Al-Ahmar, you are an Egyptian GAOT for real.

People were not paying attention to El-Gendy because they were following the Handball game

Good luck to our athletes and thanks to our medalists. We are waiting for better results and more medals inshallah in Paris 2024.

The Karate Egyptian queen made a true history in Tokyo.

Giana Farouk is the first Egyptian, Arab, Muslim and African woman to win a medal in the Olympics in Karate Kumite.

Thanks to Al-Ahly Club Karate Fighter, Karate Kumite is the 8th game Egypt scored a medal in it since the launch of the Olympics.

Egypt did not have this expansion in mass vaccination as expected in July but hopefully, it will catch up in August.

Countries like Iraq and Tunisia were hit hard in July.

Algeria and Morocco also witnessed a huge increase in cases of coronavirus.

Egypt in the first week of #Tokyo2020 Olympics : 2 Bronze medals so far

On the fourth day of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics Egypt scored two medals in not more than 20 minutes.

Yup, Egypt scored the bronze medals in Taekwondo on Monday in less than 20 minutes to be precise.

Our fantastic Taekwondo fighter Hedaya Malak secured the first Tokyo medal for Egypt after beating Paige Mcpherson of USA 17-6 while competing for a bronze medal of the 67kg event.

After ten minutes of Malak’s victory, our Taekwondo fighter Seif Issa won the second bronze medal for Egypt after beating Andre Richard Ordemann of Norway 12-4 in the Men -80kg Bronze Medal Contests on Monday.

It was a relief after three days of ongoing and unfortunate losses and disqualification to have those bronze medals.

20 minutes made millions of Egypt happy for real after huge disappointment in the first three days.

Now I am happy Hedaya Malak got a medal in Tokyo 2020. It is her second medal in the Olympics after her bronze medal in Rio 2016.

#GERD and beyond : After the second filing , what is the next move for Egypt and Sudan ? "Updated"

Ethiopia’s Irrigation Ministry announced on Monday that the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam “GERD” finished successfully its second filing despite the objections of both Egypt and Sudan.

From three weeks ago, Ethiopia notified both Egypt and Sudan that it started the second filing already as the two Nile Downstream countries were heading into the United Nations Security Council on GERD talks for the second time.

Ethiopian irrigation minister Seleshi Bekele announced on Monday that the GERD reservoir reached an overtopping water level.

“Currently, the incoming flow passes through both bottom outlets and overtopping” Bekele added in his statement on social media.

He added that the Blue Nile experienced extreme rainfall, the GERD reservoir was filled rapidly.

He did not mention numbers related to the quantity of water they got now.

According to previous statements of Ethiopian irrigation officials in the past month, the second filling should collect around 18.4 billion cubic metres of Blue Nile water, up from the 4.9 billion cubic metres withheld during the first filling last year.

Al-Aqsa Mosque storming : Because Radical Jewish Settlers Love to celebrate Eid with Muslim Palestinians “Just Kidding”

Earlier Sunday, Israeli Occupation Forces “IOF” and hundreds of radical Jewish settlers stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque resulting in clashes that continued for hours between the Palestinians and the IOF for hours till late at night.

It started with provocation and rallies by the Jewish settlers around Al-Aqsa Mosque on Saturday with a clear intention that it was going to be a very long day ahead, they want to storm Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Those settlers were allegedly commemorating the Tisha B’ Av or the day the Mount Temple was destroyed through history.

Ethiopia’s GERD to UN Security Council Part 2 : A Night to watch

Egyptians are waiting eagerly for what will happen in New York Thursday as the United Nations Security Council is going to hold a session on the latest developments of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam “GERD” dispute with Ethiopia per the request of Egypt and Sudan from last month.

It is like a football match in the Euro 2021 at least for me.

Both Nile Downstream countries went to the UNSC for the second time after last year as the talks with Ethiopia reached deadlock insisting to go on with the second filing of GERD (It did start filing the dam) again this year. It is a bit Deja vu but this time Sudan is with Egypt, unlike last year.

Tunisia, the only Arab non-permanent member of the UNSC in this session presented a draft resolution to the Council in coordination with the Arab bloc in the UN as well as Egypt and Sudan. I read the draft resolution and it is very balanced. (This is what both Egypt and Sudan want)

The draft resolution stipulates that Ethiopia ceases immediately the second filing of GERD which it started. It also called the three countries to resume negotiations at the joint invitation of the Chairperson of the African Union and the Secretary-General of the UN to finalize, within a period of six months, the text of a binding agreement on the filling and operation of the GERD.

Both Egypt and Sudan have been demanding a timeframe for the talks after nearly wasting years in bottomless talks with Addis Abbas.

The resolution adds the required agreement should "ensure Ethiopia's ability to generate hydropower from the GERD while preventing the inflicting of significant harm on the water security of downstream states."

It urges the "three countries to refrain from making any statements or taking any action that may jeopardize the negotiation process.

#GERD : Ethiopia starts the second filing its grand dam , Egypt and Sudan already at the Security Council

From a couple of hours, the Egyptian Ministry of Irrigation announced that it received that an official letter from Ethiopia informing it that the second filling of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) has started already.

From its side, Egypt officially rejected categorically the unliteral action of Addis Ababa without reaching a legally binding agreement on the operations and filing policies of GERD.

In a reply letter, Egyptian Irrigation Minister Mohamed Abdel Ati expressed Egypt’s official rejection of the action.

Abdel Ati stated in the letter that the filing decision unliterally was considered a dangerous violation of the Declaration of Principles “DoPs” signed in Khartoum in 2015 between Egypt, Sudan and Ethiopia.

The DoPs is an agreement signed between the three countries in March of 2015 that obliges Ethiopia to cooperate with Egypt and Sudan in filling and operating the dam.

It is also considered a violation of the transboundary water treaties and laws as well as agreements, the Egyptian minister said in his letter adding that Ethiopia should be committed to respect Egypt’s water interests and rights.

That Egyptian letter was sent to the current President of the UN Security Council too.

What we really know about the Tiktok girls trial “The Myth and Truth”

Last Sunday, a Cairo Criminal Court issued her verdict in the case of Egyptian Tiktok influencer Haneen Hossam and Mawada El-Adhm on charges of human trafficking.

The Court sentenced 19-years old Haneen Hossam to ten years in prison while 23-years-old Mawada El-Adhm was sentenced to six on charges related to human trafficking after they were referred to court last March by Prosecution.

Here are basic facts in the new case I believe to be lost between public hate to girls dancing in skimpy dresses, official human trafficking charges and accusations of patriarchal control over women’s bodies.

Some of these facts social media ignores whether ignorantly or deliberately.

Mawada El-Adhm "L" and Haneen Hossam "R"
Mawada El-Adhm "L" and Haneen Hossam "R"

The Criminal court sentenced Haneen Hossam to ten years in prison, which is the maximum penalty in this trial because her trial was in absentia. The defendant receives a maximum penalty when he or she stands a trial in absentia in Egypt.

Following her sentence, Haneen Hossam disappeared and then reappeared in a video without any filters or make-up or her green lens with darker natural hair in a crying plea to Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and the public on Tuesday.

In the two-parts-video “Part 1 and Part 2”, the girl coming from the working class denied all the charges she was found guilty of, above them human trafficking.

“How would a 19-year-old girl commit human trafficking? That is a very big term that I do not even know about. I never hurt anyone,” She said in the video seen by 5 million in total “both parts” on Instagram. She spoke about details in the case I will mention it later.

The video was published on her Instagram account where she deleted all her other old videos.

She published the last video at 1:16 AM then in the morning she was arrested by security forces in Cairo's Shubra to serve her term.

Now Haneen Hossam is arrested, she will have a retrial. According to her lawyers will be in July. The Criminal Court is going to release its reasonings within 30 days following its verdict last week.

This court’s verdict is considered a first-degree sentence that can be and will be appealed by the lawyers of the defendants as far as soon the court releases its reasoning.

The case or the trial has nothing to do with Haneen Hossam’s leaked phones calls or Mawada El-Adhm’s “bikini photos” or “sex life” or “sex clips” or any of that YouTube clickbait titles.

I will start with Mawada El-Adhm’s part.

The Kurds Vs. Jewish Settlers : We Won’t Leave Sheikh Jarrah

Probably they have become the most famous twins in the Arab world now, Muna and Mohamed Al-Kurd of Jerusalem’s Sheikh Jarrah are the stars of Arab Social media.

The young siblings have become a new face for a new era and a new generation in the long Palestinian resistance without big slogans.

Muna and Mohamed Al-Kurd along with their father Nabil and the rest of the Palestinian residents of Sheikh Jarrah are fighting for the fundamental right to stay in their own houses and not to be forcibly displaced.

Before them, their grandmother Rifka Al-Kurd stood in her 80s stood from a decade ago against the Jewish settlers who invaded her family’s house and her neighbourhood.

Watch her in that short documentary produced in 2010 “We Won’t leave”.

It got English subtitles. Please watch it.

Um Nabil’s family originally was forcibly displaced from Haifa in 1948 and they lived in the outskirts of East Jerusalem as refugees and in 1956 She and her husband got the house from the UNRWA.
